“Egrets” - c. 1990s - watercolor - Gene and Zadonna spent many winters on the Gulf Coast of Florida. A lover of nature and especially birds, he captured the wildlife around Crystal River where egrets and blue herons fly and manatees swim.

“Sawgrass Marshes” - c. 1990s - watercolor - fed by the Homossasa and Crystal Rivers, the sawgrass marshes provide refuge for egrets and other shore birds.

“Crystal River 1” - watercolor - in their golden years, Gene and Zadonna rented a winter home in Crystal River where Gene added the colors of Florida to his palette; egrets were a particularly attractive subject, including “Fred” who lived in their backyard and ate hot dogs

“Island Hotel” - c. 1990s - watercolor - While wintering in nearby Crystal River, Gene and Zadonna loved visiting the tiny fishing village of Cedar Key. Famous for its nature trails and clam chowder, it's a wonderful shopping, eating,and fishing destination.
